Position Description

A Rockland County-based education network is seeking a licensed Registered Nurse (RN) to join one of its facilities in Monroe.

About the Opportunity:

  • Schedule: Flexible within school hours
  • Hours: 8am to 3:30pm, students present from 8:30am to 1:30pm
  • Setting: School-based

Responsibilities:

  • Serving as a member of the interdisciplinary team and coordinating health care services.
  • Arranging and providing follow-up on medical services and referrals.
  • Conducting staff training in personal hygiene, first aid, and infection control.
  • Managing communicable diseases and ensuring infection control.
  • Maintaining medical documentation and administering medications.

Qualifications:

  • 1+ year of Nursing experience
  • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing program
  • NYS Registered Nurse (RN) license
  • Knowledge of Adaptive equipment and devices
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with students and staff
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and analyze problems
  • Willingness to work at various program sites

Desired Skills:

  • Experience working with the IDD population
